I don’t know the amount of times I have sat in history class and wondered how someone like Hitler could have ever gotten far enough in government to have that kind of power, but now I’m watching it happen live in the U.S and I’m terrified.
It’s always the same. Economic crisis, a nation wanting to blame their situation on others (jews, latinos, whoever isn’t us), a demagogue with no experience in politics that feeds the fear of uneducated people and validates their hate (of course we didn’t do anything wrong, we work so hard, they did this to us)
it’s amazing that even after creating the NATO, even after pushing ww2 in every schoolbook in the world, we keep making the exact same mistakes.
